2013 POLICE UNITY TOUR

Friday, May 10, 2013  Ladder 26 and Ladder 51 from Monroe Township (www.mtvfc1.com) participated in the 2013 Police Unity Tour at the Franklin Twp. Municipal Center. In May 1997 the Police Unity Tour was organized, by Officer Patrick P. Montuore of the Florham Park Police Department, with the hope of bringing public awareness of Police Officers who have died in the line of duty and to honor their sacrifices. The riders will end their 4 day ride in Washington D.C. at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. This year Captain Steve Warrelmann from Station 26 will be participating in the ride.

     



 

LIVE BURN

Wednesday, May 8, 2013  Station 26 officers and members participated in a live BURN drill held on Wednesday, April 8th at the fire academy.  The group rotated through a variety of scenarios including a basement fire and 1st floor fires in the Phase 5 Swede.  Truck Company members also practiced venting and search.

ENIGINE 26-1 WINS 1st PLACE

Saturday, May 4, 2013  Members from Station 26 attended the 75th Anniversary Parade for East Brunswick Independant Fire Company.  Engine 26-1 was judged at the event and was awarded 1st Place for Best Appearing Engine.

Saturday, April 27, 2013  On Saturday, April 27th Ladder 26 with a crew of 6 covered the Middlesex Fire Department from 6-11pm while they held their annual carnival in Mountain View Park.

 

   


 

DISTRICT CONFINED SPACE DRILL

Saturday, April 20, 2013  Members of Station 26 attended Fire District #1 Confined Space Drill with Stations 56, 44, 28 and East Millstone First Aid Squad.  This is the first of 4 annual drills where the four district companies work together to practice specilized disiplines.  Crews from Hazmat 26 and Ladder 26 were responsible for Air Monitoring and Air Supply to the entry team.

ST. BALDRICKS

Saturday, March 23, 2013  Several Station 26 members joined the Fire District #1 St. Baldricks team this year to raise money to combat childrens cancer. Each member raised money and had their head shaved to bring awarenss to children's cancer. The District #1 team's fund raising efforts were once again very successful raising almost $30,000! The following Station 26 members had their head shaved for this great cause:

SOMERVILLE ST.PATRICKS PARADE

Sunday, March 10, 2013  Station 26 participated in the annual Somerville St. Patricks Day Parade. Station 26 apparatus included Car 26, Engine 26-1, Haz Mat 26 and Support Services 26.

SAVE THE DATE

Station 26 and 28 will be having a dedication and wet down of engine 26-1 and Air/Light/Rehab unit 28 on August 3, 2013. More information will be coming. Hope to see you there.

   


 

Incident Support Unit Placed In Service

Friday, February 15, 2013  Station 26 has placed into service its Incident Support Unit.  The unit is a 2012 16 ' Diamond Cargo enclosed trailer.  The trailer was outfitted with custom fabricated shelving.  It is designed to carry additional equipment to various types of incidents.  Some of the equipment includes dewatering equipment, Hazmat booms and pads, a 6500 watt generator and a 95,000 lumen portable light tower.  It also transports a over 100 gallons of class B alcohol resistant  foam and a supply of high expansion foam, as well as a high expansion foam generator.
